In your pantry:
*Extra-virgin olive oil (and other cold-pressed healthy oils - choose organic when available).
*Organic dried or canned beans - variety is the spice of life! (When selecting canned versions, stay away from any that have added animal fat, preservatives and salt).
*Salt-Free natural seasonings.
*Organic coffee & tea (find unbleached coffee filters).
*Whole-grain, high-fiber pastas, sandwich breads, crackers and cereals (if it doesn't have 100% whole grain in the top ingredients, chances are that it's not).
*Organic nuts and seeds (eat in moderation).
*Organic garlic, onions, and potatoes.
In Your Fridge:
*FRESH organic fruits and vegetables (it's better to make frequent trips to the store than to buy too much and have it spoil).
*Lean, organic, free-range meats and wild-caught fish.
*Low-fat dairy options (skim milk, low-fat cheese, kefir and yogurt) - or milk substitutes such as rice milk, almond milk, and soy milk.
